LKN Sweet Treats

Now that Summer is here in full force it seems everyone in the Queen City is out searching for a sweet treat with which to cool off. There’s quite possibly nothing better than an ice cream cone on a scorching hot day. Recently, Charlotte’s Got A Lot put out their list of the best ice cream shops in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg metro. And wouldn’t you know it? Two Lake Norman area shops are featured. 

Which Ones Made the List? 

Up first on the list is Carolina Cones in Cornelius. This sweet little family-owned shop has all the vibes of a retro ice cream parlor and is a true area favorite for over forty years. Carolina Cones has indoor and outdoor seating, a gazebo, and outdoor play equipment for kids, all with a train theme. On the menu you’ll find cones, sundaes, floats, and milkshakes. They also offer slushies, hot mini donuts, and even little doggie cups for your furry friends. One visit to Carolina Cones and you’ll understand why they made the list. 

The next shop to make the Charlotte’s Got A Lot list is Whit’s Frozen Custard in Davidson. Whit’s slogan is “A Smile In A Cup” and it’s not hard to see why. Hand made on site daily, Whit’s prides itself on being a true custard shop and they take their time to make sure all their flavors are perfect. In addition to their Flavor of the Week, their vanilla and chocolate custards are churned all day every day. Pop in for a visit to see for yourself!
