Blog > Most Neighborly Cities
Ask anyone about the South and someone is bound to tell you that we’re known for our hospitality. Seriously! Southern Hospitality is revered across the country. Recently, Neighbor.com put that to the test by digging in to find the 10 most neighborly cities in the United States. Surprisingly, only ONE Southern city made the list and it’s right here in North Carolina.
Is it Charlotte?
Before we reveal the list, let’s share how Neighbor.com reached their determinations. Cities were ranked based on residents’ rates of charitable giving, generosity, overall happiness, and health & well-being. All these results were tabulated and the Top 10 were published.
Which city nabbed the top spot? That honor goes to Rochester, NY. The ‘Flower City’ with a population of just over 200,000 was shown to consistently display neighborly acts of kindness, volunteering, giving, and happiness.
As we said before, only one Southern city made the list and it just so happens to be here in North Carolina. It’s not Charlotte, but it is our neighbor to the east grabbing the No. 6 spot: Raleigh.
