They say that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear… however, another top-notch way to get in the holiday spirit is to be dazzled by lights. Every year, our friends at CharlotteFive ask their readers to submit the area’s best decorated holiday homes. From inflatables to timed light displays to epic Clark Griswold-esque setups, here are the area’s winners. So put on your coziest Christmas sweater, grab the thermos of hot cocoa, and load up the fam for an evening sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.

Keep in mind that these are all private residents decorating their homes because it’s truly what they love to do. Be respectful of roads and neighborhoods and don’t enter any private property. Also be aware that some homes add an element of charitable giving to this by collecting canned foods for food pantries or toy drives for St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
