As part of our ongoing video series introducing you to Southern Charm Realty and life on Lake Norman, we wanted to share some of our favorite local spots as well as some pointers about lake living.
Did you know there are workarounds to actually owning a boat even if you live on the water? Owning a boat is absolutely not a requirement in any way. It makes Lake Norman life much more fun and interesting but if you don’t want the stress and responsibility of day-to-day upkeep, join a boat club! Generally speaking there’s a registration fee for joining boat clubs, as well as a monthly membership fee, but then when you’re ready for an afternoon on the water, you’ll get your rented boat and off you go! Just fill it up with gas at the end of the day and you’re all set. How easy is that?
Once on the boat there are several local restaurants and bars that you can access directly from the water. One local favorite is Hello, Sailor. There are boat slips and a private dock extended directly from the restaurant into the lake. Just pull up to the dock, enjoy drinks, lunch, or dinner, and then head on your merry way afterwards. Plus, you can’t miss Hello, Sailor’s lighted boat parade during the holidays.

This sort of life isn’t just reserved for the locals, either. Because we offer so many luxury vacation rentals, we’ve made it easy for you to contact the necessary people in order to rent a boat during your stay. Oftentimes, boat rentals will be delivered on-site to your rental and can be rented for a few days up to a few weeks.
As always, we are ready and willing to answer all of your questions about buying, selling, renting, or building on Lake Norman and in all the surrounding communities.
